Responsive Design

Conditional Design
Research and Development:

Starbucks - uses traditional grid design, 'snappy' and functional mobile website with a navigational bar that minimizes and changes from text to icons in the mobile display.

For my final Authorship and Interaction project, I decided to create a design concept based on the responsive design workshops to show how elements on the screen adapt and respond to different viewing platforms.

The case studies gave me inspiration to experiment with shapes, colour and text and also allowed me to create an interactive and visually engaging piece.
Mashable - displays content to its audience in an efficient way with smart reading panes and smooth-moving navigation. Content shown on the site is adapted to the screen size of the device.

Final Project
My final project is a responsive web page that changes its background colour depending on the screen size of the device such as a desktop, tablet or smartphone. As the user resizes the browser, the shapes and text on the screen also adapt to the new layout as the background colour of the screen becomes the previous colour of the shape positioned at the top left. The text shown also describes the characteristics of responsive web design in digital culture.
